Wasteless Wednesday | People to Follow

Every Wednesday, I’m going to share with you some of my favorite ways to work toward a zero waste 24 hours in the kitchen. These tips are easy to implement, affordable (anyone else a fan of saving $$$?), and kind to our planet.

Reducing waste can be SO HARD. I find it helps me to follow social media accounts and blogs that encourage alternatives to plastic, walk through how to use or compost your food, and are just great at cheering us all on so we don’t feel like our small changes don’t matter because they DO. So I’ve put together a list of my favorite Instagram accounts and blogs to follow so you can fill your feed with positive, earth-loving cheerleaders. My goal here is to get you started on a few people worth following in the hopes that it will slowly but surely keep your mind thinking about reducing waste. I don’t want to overwhelm you with new people to add to your feed, so this list is short. It is just a start! If you have more great accounts or sites to follow, feel free to add your suggestions in the comments!

The Zero Waste Collective | @zero.waste.collective

This account is so lovely. It shows just how beautiful life can be when you cut out plastic! And if you head to the website, you can find a one stop shop for items that will help you move to a less wasteful way of life.

GREEN + KIND | @greenandkind

Green + Kind is based in Australia and they’re mission is to “Help[ing] our planet with beautiful ethical alternatives that are kind to us, the planet, and our fellow planet dwellers!” Hello. Perfect. They post everything from beautiful infographics to products to impactful image that illustrate just how our addiction to plastic impacts the world around us. Every time one of their images pop up in my feed, I feel a renewed sense of energy to continue being intentional about what I consume, how it is packaged, and what I do with it.

Grove Collaborative | @grovecollaborative

Aside from being a well-known place to order natural, healthy cleaning products, Grove also has a beautiful instagram feed that makes using more responsible products a pretty dreamy endeavor. Their images are beautiful, yes, but they also just have a way of gently reminding us that small changes go a long way when it comes to keeping a clean and healthy home.

Live Simply | livesimply.me

This blog is so lovely. Kristin posts content that is easy to use, beautiful to look at, and packed with ways to make life fuller and simpler. This post in particular is a wonderful one to read if you’re looking to reduce waste.

And there’s a start! This is a short list of influential accounts/sites to help you stay motivated and focused, even when you just want to fall back on old habits. I hope you find these people as inspiring as I do and I REALLY hope to see some great suggestions in the comments!
